Support for .NET 2.0, aka Whidbey, started in December 2005. Feature-wise, there's the type protocol for quicker type browsing, consolidation of scripting and extensible features (dropping of VSA in favor of AddIns), a beefed-up code interpreter, more templating and text processing stuff, new editing features, additional per-language extension points.
First run in January 2004. Custom document view providers, syntax coloring and AutoText customization, templates dialog, format theme providers, quick font customization, creation of new toolbars, possible duplication of certain tool windows, AddIn-based macros, configuration profiles.
Sprang to live in January, 2003. MDI interface, AddIns, code interpreter, parameterized templates, project management, assembly browser. Extensibility arrives.
Hit the CLR in June, 2002. Fresh new tool window UI, VSA, FTP caching, Shell AutoComplete, file insertion, and lots more. The .NET framework pays off.

Experimental version with a tool window interface and beginnings of the command model. Work dropped in September 2001, after a strange surge of classic VB nostalgia.

Shows the Windows Shell Namespace in tree and list view instead of VB's file system controls. Use of shell icons, and various changes here and there. First registered its window class in early 2000.
Text editor integrating a file manager. SDI interface, document history, file search, token lists. First modern version defining the key concepts; surfaced arround September 1999.
Circa May 1999. Simple text editor and file browser that integrates the a web browser control for file preview.
Arround March 1999. Simple file system browser integrating a text viewer for very rapid text file browsing.
